Shopify and Pinterest are “Arming the Rebels” the Rebels are the online businesses and brands that want to own their online brand and presence. By arming the rebels, Shopify & Pinterest are creating a future where brands no longer have to compete directly with their landlords.
Shopify and Pinterest also offer Brands and Businesses the tools to compete against larger, more will establish Brands and Marketplaces.
With very low barriers to entry.
In 2019 online retail sales accounted for approximately 16 percent of all global online sales. I believe we're in the early innings of a paradigm shift that will require most Businesses & Brands to have an online presence, with an optional brick-and-mortar component.
Shopify and Pinterest are designed to aid Small Businesses and Brands through this transition.
Thus they are “Arming the Rebels”.
